Lena Goffinet, MSW is the Democratic candidate for Indiana House District 74 and a lifelong advocate for children, families, and vulnerable communities throughout Southern Indiana.
Born and raised in Perry County, Indiana, Lena left the area to attend college before later living in Hamilton County, including Fishers, for several years. In 2013, she returned home to Perry County with a renewed commitment to serving the community that shaped her values and work ethic.
As a social worker (MSW) with nearly two decades of experience in child welfare, mental health, and family advocacy, Lena has dedicated her career to supporting children impacted by abuse, neglect, trauma, and instability. Her work has focused heavily on protecting children, strengthening families, and helping foster youth and caregivers navigate some of life's most difficult challenges.
Throughout her career, Lena has worked with diverse clients in rural and urban communities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address mental health challenges, family conflict, poverty, and trauma. Her professional experience includes outpatient therapy, home-based family services, correctional mental health services, and community resource advocacy. Lena is also a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Lena earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University and her Master of Social Work from Indiana University. She is known for her compassionate, practical, and solutions-focused approach to helping people overcome barriers and build healthier futures.
Rooted in both professional experience and a passion for helping others, Lena brings a voice focused on empathy, service, and real-world problem solving to the future of Indiana.
